Reality shows and other forms of vicarious living...

I recently caught an episode of a show called 'Party Mamas', and I can confidently tell you that I have no intention of watching another. I consists of wealthy mothers hosting parties for their kids and in all cases thoroughly ignoring what their kids want and focusing on looking good.

Much like the stereotypical hockey dad, these women consider their children an extension of their egos, to be paraded out there as a prop for their own inflated sense of the grandiose.

Why can't parents let their kids enjoy their childhood?
